About THE LSPIA Community

Our Association

The LSPIA is a voluntary association dedicated to enhancing the enjoyment of Bangs Lake. Our members enjoy exclusive access to fishing, a boat launch, and a beautiful beach area.


Important Dates for 2025

June 1 - Pay at the Beach, 10am - 1pm

July 20 - Annual Beach Party 1pm - 5pm

TBD - Pumpkin Party


Parties of 15 or more must email board@lspia.org to inquire about availability and reservation.


We are always looking for volunteers!

Membership

Annual Dues are $150.00 per household (same for rental property); $75.00 for Senior Citizens. If paid after June 1, 2025, dues are $160.00 per household / $85.00 for Senior Citizens. Dues must be mailed to LSPIA PO Box 344, Wauconda, IL 60084 or paid in person on Sunday, June 1st 10am-1pm.

    Membership Eligibility is determined by the location of your property. Locally described boundaries are as follows: The North side of Route 176 (Liberty Street) starting at Grand Boulevard going west to Lake Shore Boulevard, the west side of Lake Shore Boulevard from 176 to Hill Street, the east side of Lake Shore Boulevard to 616 Lake Shore Boulevard, then southward through the center of Grand to Route 176.

    No, we hire beach monitors to rake seaweed, pick up goose droppings, and keep up the overall appearance of the park, but there is no lifeguard.


    No, you must park either on your own property, or on a neighborhood street that allows for parking (the space along the park fence line is a strictly No Parking zone).


    Yes, you are allowed to bring food and non-glass containers to the park as long as you dispose of all of your garbage properly in the receptacles provided.


    Yes, as long as you accompany your guest and are wearing your wristband, guests are welcome.


    Fishing is allowed off of the fishing pier on the left (south) side of the park. Fishing is NOT allowed off of the swimming pier, or in the swimming area.


    Launching non-motorized craft is permitted anywhere along the shoreline EXCEPT in the swimming area. You may not use these craft within the swimming area.


    If you have paid for a designated canoe/kayak spot, have a registration sticker displayed on your craft, AND have it secured by a lock, you are able to leave it at the park. Any motorized craft CANNOT remain at the park overnight.

    Members

    Members must have current LSPIA wristbands at all times while in the park or beach. ALL GUESTS must be accompanied by a current member. NON-PAYING residents are not allowed in the park as a guest of a paid member. Violators will be asked to leave. 

    Age Restrictions

    Children under the age of 10 must be supervised by an adult while inside the park. Children 15 and under may NOT be on the beach, in the water or on any of the docks without adult supervision.

    Curfew in the park: For those 17 years old and under; Village of Wauconda ordinance applies: Sunday through Thursday 11PM – 6AM, Friday and Saturday Midnight – 6AM. Adults; Park closes daily at Midnight. NO SWIMMING after dusk.
